My man Rafael is a walking encyclopedia for all that is Costarican. He made our excursion into a personal experience of our dreams, while guiding us with the grace of a true professional.
Rafael's passion is to open your eyes to the beauty of, as well as educate you about, every aspect of this land that you wish. He was absolutely amazing.

Rafael was a marvelous tour guide; extremely knowledgeable and most helpful; his expertise, information and charm made my trip to Costa Rica unforgettable. Rafael is a true ambassador for Costa Rica, her people and her amazing beauty (and he has the most beautiful teeth of any tour guide anywhere!) :-)

Before we met Rafael, we took some conventional Costa Rican tours where we were taken to typical tourist trap sites filled with other tourists. With Rafael we had access to behind the scenes activity and saw a side of Costa Rica that most tourists never see. He guided us to fabulous restaurants that only the locals know about. We had a private tour of a large commercial banana plantation and an organic banana and chocolate plantation. As a naturalist he is the best guide to the national parks. He can locate and discuss at length the flora and fauna, and is fascinating to listen to. With his telescopic lens he could locate distant animals for us to observe and photograph. What we enjoyed most was that Rafael caters the tour towards what we were personally interested in. He would stop the van for us to take pictures or change the itinerary on a minute's notice, based on our wishes. He was fabulous; we are already planning our return trip for next year with him as our guide. Colleen Cahill, Philadelphia, PA

Without question, one of my favorite tours during my seven weeks in Costa Rica was my weekend trip with Rafael. Rafael didn't wait until we arrived in Limon to begin the tour, it started from the moment we left San Jose. As tourists interested in Costa Rica's nature, history as well as relaxation and fun, he us offered the perfect balance. We saw an amazing number of animals, visited banana and pineapple plantations, ate at great local restaurants as well as enjoyed the great local night life.
